I want to try that!

Would your child like the opportunity to play an instrument? Many children show interest in playing instruments at a young age, but many parents hesitate to start lessons because of the potential cost involved with renting an instrument, buying music and paying an instructor. This on top of sports camps, dance class or any number of other activities can be a bit daunting and sadly it seems the arts take a back seat to most other  opportunities. We are thrilled to offer this NEW PROGRAM to enable children grades 3-5  (some 2nd and 6th graders may also be considered) the chance to take music lessons for FREE! That’s right, FREE! The Altoona Symphony’s Educational Fund will pay for your child to
take lessons for 6 months with a certified instructor and musician from our Altoona Symphony Orchestra .

You and your child must commit to taking weekly lessons beginning in September, 2018 and ending In June, 2019 (December OFF). We will also work with you to locate instruments at little to no cost while your child explores and tries any number of instruments in their search for the right musical fit.

For more information, or to apply for our program, please contact the Altoona Symphony Orchestra Office or go online to www.altoonasymphony.org.
