Guest ArtistOvidiu Marinescu Conductor and Cellist, Romania
In Honor of: Allen and Marilyn Goldberg The concert will be a fitting tribute to Allen because he was a great lover of classical music. Many of you knew him for his big personality, sense of humor, and obsession with sports (particularly tennis and Penn State football). But he was also passionate about Mozart, Beethoven, Bach, Brahms, Stravinsky, Shostakovitch, Bernstein, and so many more composers. He learned about music largely through his relationship with our mother, Marilyn, who studied classical piano for many years. He loved going to concerts and listened to music in the car and at home. Nearly every Sunday morning, he and Marilyn would listen to music for hours and play a guessing game of who's the composer when one of them would turn on the LP record player and play a few bars. That's how he developed an appreciation for classical music. We would be so happy to have you join us for these events.
