Summer 2018 Cushion Concert Series & Family Programs

What is a Cushion Concert?

A cushion concert is a great way to introduce the next generation to classical music. We apply music to the background of stories, or discuss how the instruments make different sounds and tones in order to display the power of music as a driving force behind a story or to provoke emotions. The use of different types of instruments at each concert enables us to educate the community, specifically youth, about the different types of instruments and the varying sounds they produce. We always encourage those in attendance to try each instrument and offer a unique homemade band  for them to enjoy the discovery of music through recycled objects.

When and Where are the Cushion Concerts?

This years Cushion Concerts will take place at local libraries and festivals. This was done to help minimize m
arketing costs and give us a guaranteed audience for each show!

These programs come to you thanks to a generous Educational Grant from the T.Dean Lower and Jane Young Lower Trust. For information please contact the ASO office at 814-943-2500, or email Executive Director, Pamela Snyder Etters at aso.petters@atlanticbbn.net.
