After thoughtful consideration, Maestro Nick Palmer has shared his plans to retire as Music Director at the end of the 2026–27 season. Nick’s remarkable history with the ASO—spanning back to his first appearance in 1996—has brought extraordinary artistry, warmth, and connection to our stage and community.

As we honor Nick’s legacy, the ASO will begin a national search for the next Music Director to lead us into our centennial season in 2028–29.
